Notes: These famous Keith Richards sessions are among the very finest "solo performances" by any "Stone". Especially the 1977 sessions in Toronto, that took place right after the drug-bust. The recordings from March 12-13 1977 deserve an official release - at least an "EP". Enjoy... Erik_snow. (Info taken from original info file).

*** Led Zeppelin North American Tour Summer 1970 ***

Personnel: Jimmy Page, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant. .

Notes: This is Tarantura's 2000 mix of Source 1 and Source 2 to form a (more) complete show. I believe the majority of the mix is in the first show of the two being uploaded from this day in 1970.

This a great 4 CD set. And yes, as I listened to the first show again (after a few years) as I was coming back to finish this upload, it sounds much better than I remembered as I uploaded Source 3 of the second show yesterday and made some comments about it. It has its brighter moments that sound better than others. But overall, and especially after it gets going a few songs, I really liked hearing how great it does sound (but forgot).

I hope you enjoy this Source 1 & 2 mix version of both of these historic, high energy shows...

After listening to the second, evening show as I was making my previous post before sunrise yesterday (it will be by the time I post this), which is CD's 3 & 4, I believe that show was one source only. Whatever the case, whatever the source, this is a great-to-excellent 4 CD set of both the afternoon and evening shows on September 19, 1970. And the majority of the sound on both shows is what I call excellent (8-to-9 out of 10). These are my personal ratings and they may not be the same to you. I tend to base my own ratings on more than just sound and I let how much I like or enjoy the show enter in. It's not very scientific (o helpful?), but it is what it is.

Lineage: Tarantura 2000 silver CD's > WAV > me > TLH (for CDDA testing & to aligning sector boundaries/fix SBE's*) > Audacity (to embed metadata/song titles and info and encode as FLAC) > FLAC 6 > TLH (to recheck project was error free and to create and verify md5 & ffp files) > you ..<- from original info file>.

*** Hemispheres Tour ***

Personnel: Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee, Neil Peart.

Notes: The original version of this legendary soundboard show had a tracking issue with Xanadu and The Trees. In the original release, Xanadu was 11:43 and The Trees was 6:12, but the tail end of Xanadu carried over to the start of The Trees. This "fixed" version corrects that oddity. For the record, I converted the original SHNs to WAV using xAct, edited the tracks using Audacity, exported the tracks as WAV files and then encoded the two new WAV files (Tracks 2 and 3) as SHNs. I also created new checksums. In all other respects, the show is identical to the original release.<- Info taken from original info file>.

Notes: Abum name "That's All You Need" - Label: OH BOY - Silver Bootleg. A trademark of Disc Deluxe Sarl. Luxembourg. Catalogue number 1-9035. As with most bootlegs the CD information can be misleading with mispellings, and other duff info etc. Sometimes tracks can be from different gigs, so you never know. Regardless of the afore mentioned, this is a great recording of a great Faces performance.

Supposedly recorded in 1973. Live concert recording in what sounds to be a small theatre.  My guess is that this is one their BBC "In Concert" appearances. If so, then probably taken from a BBC Transcription vinyl that were used in those days.(You can hear the odd quiet crackle) - but you can't be sure. Seven Faces tracks and 6 Rod Stewart solo efforts..

There is no crowd noise around the taper and the sound is even through out with all the instruments clear heard, there is a cut in the tape, between Rock ‘n’ Roll ain’t Noise Pollution and the Jack that sadly omits Bad Boy Boogie.

Notes: Original lineage unknown, but definitely audience-sourced.

Notes from labattblueleaf: - Date printed on inside cover and back cover is August 18, 1994. Image of ticket stub I found online documents correct date of August 19,1994. Additionally, this concert vid is floating around YouTube (different audio source) showing 1994-08-19. I saw Pantera for the first time in Kalamazoo, MI three days before this show. Have the handbill even. Due to that, and this being my first Pantera boot, this show holds a place near-and-dear to my heart. I'm shocked "Planet Caravan" doesn't have a hole worn through it on the CD!

Prong opened. Sepultura was also supposed to be on this bill but Max messed up his knee and Sepultura had to cancel a good chunk of the tour dates. Phil talks about it at the end of "Mouth For War". Above all else, especially above my bias for this show, for any casual listener, it is an excellent audience recording.

Track 4 is misspelt 'Strength Beyond Strenght' on the back cover, Track 12 is incorrectly titled 'Refuse Resist'. Track 12 is a brief Sepultura cover. Track 14 is a Black Sabbath cover..

Final night of Springsteen’s 3 night stint at the club. First confirmed "Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street for the tour, and last known "Then She Kissed Me" until 2008. The above-mentioned 15 song setlist (which may be the complete show - it’s certainly close to it) is taken from a soundboard recording of one of the three Electric Ballroom shows during this residency - the specific show has yet to be positively identified but it is now generally listed by the collector community under the final night of August 23rd.

This audio has a long, somewhat disjointed collector history - 9 of the tracks first appeared in the '80s on a vinyl bootleg called ‘Atlanta Georgia 1975' (no label). Years later a few more tracks from the show appeared on the CD boot 'It's Gonna Work Out Fine' (Scorpio). More recently all 15 known songs from the show have appeared on the CD boot ‘Sparks On The Ballroom' (Godfather).

However it should be noted that there have always been significant flaws in the source tape of this show available to bootleggers - both “Born To Run” and “She’s The One” suffer from wobble and several other songs (“4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)”, “The E Street Shuffle”, “It's Hard To Be A Saint In The City” and “Rosalita”) suffer from nuisance edits and cuts.<-(Info taken from brucebase).

*** Final gig of the 60s ***

Personnel: Jimmy Page, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant.

Notes: Their final gig of the 60s has been the center of many releases since its recent surfacing. Generating a huge buzz when discovered, we knew it would be only a matter of months before multiple versions would be released. Releases to date include Seconds After Catching Fire (Tarantura), No Cancellation (Akashic Records), This Is Jimmy (Boleskinehouse Records), Centralien (Wendy), Les Rendezvous De Paris (Empress Valley) and two 4CD versions (each containing an original and remastered version) with LZ Au Gala De L’Ecole (Graf Zeppelin) and Chatenay-Malabry 1969 (no label).

The recording comes from a good to very good audience source. The drums are unfortunately pushed to the back of the mix while the vocals, guitars and bass are equally up front. There is some distortion present but it remains a very listenable and exciting document to hear. When comparing sound quality between Chatenay-Malabry 1969 (no label) and this new Godfather I found the no label’s remaster to be a bit harsh on the top end while their original master on the third and forth discs are very similar sounding to Godfather’s version. Even further, Godfather’s level is a bit quieter giving it a more natural sound and is now my preferred choice when listening.

Final Rendez-Vous contains bonus material from Stockholm, Sweden on March 14, 1969 to fill out their second disc. This is a 22 minute tape taken from an FM broadcast in excellent quality. It has popped up on many releases before and is an interesting show where Page breaks a string and the band jams on “I Gotta Move”. Plant wails on vocal and harmonica while Jimmy changes his string. It has a killer early version of “Dazed” but unfortunately “How Many More Times” cuts out after only two minutes. This is also the first version on CD to include the DJ comments and was a great choice to include as a bonus.

Final Rendez-Vous and Chatenay-Malabry 1969 are both nice releases but Godfather releasing this as a 2CD set gives them the edge. The mastering is not overdone .

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
