(**) 2 Track tape - right and left channels. Could be 1/4 inch reel to reel, or cassette. My bet is reel to reel since it was '73 and cassettes were still new and not of very good quality - and bands would commonly record live demos to 2 track reel to reel in their rehearsal rooms. (B5Erik -

*** U2 War Tour 1983 Leg II North America + Boy Tour 1980 Leg I ***

Personnel: Bono :: The Edge :: Adam Clayton :: Larry Mullen, Jr .

Notes: Source : Disc 1, Disc 2 (1-7): May 6, 1983. Boston, MA. Orpheum Theater. Disc 2 (8-11): October 14, 1980. Hilversum, Holland. KRO Studios.

Sound Quality: Disc 1, Disc 2 (1-7): Excellent soundboard. Disc 2 (8-11): Excellent broadcast soundboard.

Comments : Although many songs of this show have been released on other bootlegs, this double CD has the COMPLETE soundboard recording of the May 6, 1983 show, which is very hard to come by. Six songs have never appeared on any bootlegs of this show before. The show is charged and U2 is in great form. The bootleg comes with black cover art and photos from both 1982 and (strangely enough) 1992. The Boston date incorrectly labeled as May 29, 1983.

A nice addition to any collection, especially since it covers the entire show. The Hilversum recording appears on other bootlegs. Both shows were recorded for radio broadcast, but I believe the master tape from the Boston show was used to master this CD. You should definitely pick this up. This is probably the best recorded representation of a U2 show from the 1983 tour. The only flaw in the Boston show is a 2-second "skip" (quite like a record would do) during the piano intro to "I Fall Down." However, a careful listen doesn't reveal any surface noise one would expect from a recording mastered from vinyl. The Holland tracks are a nice addition.  This is the original pressing on this label.

Description: Review: Roar Ends . This is one of my favorite concerts, and the Siréne guys have done well. The sound quality is excellent and this show, in a snapshot, illustrates what the Pink Floyd had become.
This show and the July 4 Madison Square Garden CD show how their fans had changed from just enjoying the ride to being demanding and obnoxious. In "Pigs on the Wing, Pt. 2" Roger berates fans for "shooting off fireworks and shouting and screaming" and you can't blame him. At the end of "Money" he urges the crowd to "take it easy" and "don't worry about it, I don't...well I do, but I wish I didn't", to "Just cause there's a few assholes down front doesn't mean everbody has to get upset".

At the start of "Us and Them" Roger urges "this is a quiet song so let's get quiet and try to end this thing peacefully". When they end with a blues number, something that hadn't been done for years he says "We're not noted as a blues band but we're just going to play a slow blues number so everyone can calm down".
The songs are superb, this is the last set of the '77 tour and if you compare the earlier '77 concerts with this one they have pulled it all together. Really good and tight ending to "Pigs, 3 different ones" where Rodger alledgedly spits on a fan and taunts "Come Boy".

This is the same recording as the Ayanami recording "The End of Animals", though this one, being spread over 3 discs contains more audience. At one point the taper urges someone to stick around.
A bit later the second person, apparently becoming aware that the taper is taping the concert asks to meet him later, which goes like this, "I live in Toronto".."Huh".."I live in Toronto"..."that's not a problem".

Azimuth Coordinator Part II is a differnt recording and is the same as "Fireworks in the Canadian Woods". This is my summary of these CDs; Azimuth Coordinator is nice since you are in the middle of the audience, at times during "Us and Them" the music is drowned out by the crowd noise. But the blues number is not on these two discs, you find it on the end of Azimuth Coordinator Part III.

"Fireworks in the Canadian Woods" is from the same source but contains more audience, where you hear people yelling "Echoes", Astronomy Domine", "The Embryo", and "Pink Floyd is God".
Unfortunately the blues number fades out before, the audience starts to boo because the equipment is being taken apart, with the woman yelling "F**k you" and "Booooo". "Roar Ends" and "The End of Animals" are from a different source than "Azimuth Coordinator" and "Fireworks".

This source has a better sound quality and is complete. But where, on "Azimuth" and "Fireworks" the "F**k You" is right next to the taper on "Roar Ends" and "The End of Animals" this is far in the distance. For sound quality "Roar Ends" and "The End of Animals" are preferred, for that middle of the audience feeling "Azimuth" and "Fireworks" are better. All are truly awesome. Ripped by:BB aka TFK!.

Notes: New PRRP release. Acquired this from one of the Tull road crew several years ago & then promptly forgot I had it. Does not seem to have surfaced anywhere, so this should help fill in the missing gaps at The Ministry of Information. The very first track on the tape is the instumental Quartet, played over the PA in the theatre, and which can be found on the Nightcap album (highly recommended). The first instrumental is also incomplete - otherwise the this is the concert in its entirety.

*** USA Tour (First Leg) ***

Personnel: Eric Clapton Guitar, Vocals :: Jamie Oldaker Drums :: Dick Sims Keyboards :: Carl Radle Bass :: George Terry Guitar :: Yvonne Elliman Backing Vocals.

Notes: Excellent overall recording quality, very little tape hiss, runs a bit slow. EC does the band introductions in "Get Ready" and unlike many shows from the 1974 tour, where the band introductions are a long, drawn out affair, EC is short and to the point. EC turns 'Matchbox' into a Carl Perkins medley of sorts, tossing in a verse of "Boppin' the Blues".

Audio quality takes a real dive with the beginning of "Layla", which is incomplete. Sounds like some problem with the analog source, as there are spots where the recording returns to its previous quality. It continues like that through the end of "Tell the Truth", getting back on track before the beginning of "Blues Power". Finally, the band does a nice segue from Steady Rollin' Man into Crossroads. Missing the encore of "Little Queenie". Two shows performed on this date, unknown which show this is.<-(Info taken from

Notes: Great show, great quality (probabyl from MiniDisc or DAT digital recorder). Very good versions of Planet of the New Orleans, I Think I Love You Too Much (a bit different than that played in Knewborth '90 - new bridge added), Setting Me Up (great solos!) and Tunnel of Love.

Additional comments(OEB): One of the first concerts (fourth) of the On every street world tour in Dublin 1991. Taken from the original silver pressed bootleg "Strait to the point". Interesting because of the rarely performed songs like:
-I think I love you too much, -Setting me up -Why worry. Very good sound quality, complete show including one bonus track ( tunnel of love) from the day after this concert

Notes: *1)Live at Kosei-Nenkin Hall Tokyo Japan July 31 1978 :Ex SOUNDBOARD RECORDING *2)Live At Cleveland Ohio 1978 :Ex SOUNDBOARD RECORDING :::: This Sound material is the one at the 1st japan (east) tour! The Rob's vocal in the 1st japan tour is very exciting and amazing high tone voice.

Superb vintage material!. There seems to be a lot of extra-flashy instrumentation ("Genocide" runs very long with extra guitarwork; "Starbreaker" has a short drum solo). Judging by the way the Japanese girls scream during the first 5 tracks, you'd think they were a pop band.<-(Info taken from original info file).

*** 1976 Tour Of Japan & Europe with Crazy Horse ***

Personnel: Neil Young - vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboards, guitjo, harmonica :: Frank Sampedro - guitar, keyboards, vocals :: Billy Talbot - bass, vocals :: Ralph Molina - drums, vocals.

Notes: This was Young’s first visit to Japan and he played seven shows in Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Tokyo. All of the shows have been taped and many pressed. The most recent releases include Another Osaka (Screamer), which contains half of the March 4th show, and GFK (Watch Tower) containing the Fukuoka tape. Wet Show, one of two recent Neil Young releases on the Tarantura label, contains a brand new complete audience recording.

An older excellent audience recording exists and was released several years ago on You Are Just A Dream (F*!#in’ Up FUPCD-2001/2002), but is missing the second encore “Cortez The Killer.” Wet Show legitimately has the second encore and for the first time this show is complete. The sound quality is simply stunning. It is a three dimensional stereo audience recording taped right in front of the stage.

The balance between the instruments and audience is perfect, and is detailed enough to pick up Young’s off-mic comments.<-(Info taken from ::::: This recording of the first show of 1976 Japanese Tour is from a previously uncirculated master and contains a previously uncirculated second encore of Cortez The Killer. This is a recent release from the apparently exclusive Tarantura label and is supposed to be direct from the original cassette masters. The sound is stellar.<-(Info taken from original info file).

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
