Notes: Very good sound (ADD). Soundboard recording. Radio broadcast. No cuts or fade outs between the tracks. Incomplete concert. Pretty cool bootleg. The band sounds really powerful. This was the last tour of Scorpions with this line-up, the most classical of all. A lot of Scorpions classical songs were played during that tour, including "Blackout", "Rock you like a hurricane", "Still loving you" and a super hit from those days,"Wind of change". Also we found rocker versions of "Rhythm of love", The Who's "I can't explain", "Hit between the eyes" (from Freejack sountrack) and "The zoo"(wonderful). Great set. Enjoyable. Sound Quality: This is better than other sources previously in circulation.

Notes: Eric Clapton’s May 1st, 1990 show at the Forum in Los Angeles occurs in the final week of the first leg of the Journeyman tour. There have been two prior silver releases of this date, but both Live at the Forum (USA International Pop UNP050) and Crossroads in L.A. (Blackie 06) use a poor sounding tape. It is also incomplete featuring “Bad Love” to “Crossroads” and missing the first hour and the final encore “Sunshine Of Your Love.” Beano use a second tape source which was taped much closer to the stage producing excellent sound. There is great balance between the instruments on stage and also with the audience noise too perfectly capturing the atmosphere of the event. There is some tape deterioration in the very beginning of ”Bad Love” and during ”Sunshine Of Your Love.”

This show is distinctive for George Harrison joining Clapton on stage for the encores. He was in nearby Bel Air working on the new Traveling Wilburys album at the time. His appearance was probably rumored beforehand because several people by the taper were talking about it during the opening. (”Elton John? I think George Harrison will guest. Notes: Since the beginning of the tour Gilmour has played the whole new album during the first set of each show. Initially, the show would open with this album but on April 16th, the day before this performance the decision was made to take the Breathe-Time-Breathe reprise segment and move it to the beginning of the show. This allowed him to welcome the audience after playing these songs and then introduce the new album before any of it was played. This worked well so it was used again during this show. During the second set, Shine On and Wearing The Inside Out are played, as they have since the beginning of the tour. This is followed by Arnold Layne which is performed here for the first time since October 6th, 1967 making this a very special show. The song was then included in additional shows in both Europe and the US and is featured on the Gilmour commercial DVD as he sings the song with David Bowie. The remainder of the setlist included songs played consistently throughout the tour. Both source recordings were excellent but had different dynamics and slightly different sound characteristics. Notes: This fantastic version of this show was released some years ago by Digital Brothers who made a great job merging two sources (soundboard and audience) to create an incredible sound matrix, restoring the live atmosphere that the raw soundboard was missing. The "ZŸrich Revisited" bootleg soon became noted as the best bootleg from the 1977 tour. But one could have different opinion. One reviewer wrote "I have mixed feelings about this. This audience/soundboard matrix sounds indeed closer to Seconds out than the soundboard (that's a compliment), but new problems have been introduced. The audience over the beginning of several tracks is quite annoying..."
Yes, audience noise had been added which in itself shouldn't be an issue if it were not too intrusive during Phil's introduction and even during several songs. Because of this issue "ZŸrich revisited" could not stand the comparison with an official release ! Even if the sound quality of the music itself is astonishing. The issue of audience noise is fixed in this new release (hence the version 2), making it much more enjoyable to listen to, and now really really close to an official release.

A new cover has also been designed (sorry but I find that "ZŸrich revisited" have the ugliest cover of all the 1977 Genesis boots) As a bonus you'll find other tracks that Genesis played earlier in the 1977 tour but left off the set-list by the time of the Zurich concert. Some notes about the bonus tracks :
"All in a mouse's night" is from the Gaumont theatre in Southampton. This soundboard recording suffered from the lack of bass guitar, totally inaudible (unrecorded ?). This flaw has been repaired in the version presented here (but I won't tell you how it was made possible ah ah). "The knife" from Earl's court had its introLink slightly cut in the original recording; this has also been repaired.

Notes: This is Kansas live at the Palladium during their Audio Visions tour, recorded here in it's entirety. It's an excellent and flawless radio broadcast, without any interference of an announcer or commercials. The beginning of the show is phenomenal: Wagner's Lohengrin is played over the PA and the band comes onstage in total darkness and blends in beautifully with the classical piece before kicking into Point Of Know Return. Sadly this tour is also the last one with the original line up, before Steve decided to leave the band. What makes this show very interesting is the fact they play one song of Steve's and one of Kerry's solo album back to back. It's kind of stange to hear Steve's sing the lyrics of Mask Of The Great Deceiver. But so was it to hear Black Sabbath's Ronnie James Dio sing the studio version. Track one of the second disc was continued for some minutes on the second track, but I fixed this. I torrented this show the first time around April last year but this time I did some remastering to make the show sound even better. Anyway, this show will be a nice addition to your Kansas collection. Enjoy! - kerrylives. (Info taken from original info file).

But the ultimate release for Berlin was issued by Empress Valley in 2002. Eternal Magic comes packaged in a four-fold cardboard sleeve which fits into a deluxe box along with a 3″ bonus disc with radio reports and a miniature reproduction of the concert poster. The soundboard recording is found on discs one and two and sound as good as the best sounding releases. EV also use the audience tape to fill in the gap after “All My Love.”

On discs three and four EV use an excellent sounding audience tape which is much better at picking up the atmosphere of the gig. It is close to the stage, very clear and is one of the best sounding tapes from the tour. While the soundboard recording is very good, Eternal Magic fills a considerable need because it is the only title to feature a complete audience tape from this show and is essential for those of us who prefer audience tapes to soundboards.<-(Info taken from original info file + collectors music reviews).
