Notes: This is a TERRIFIC sounding audience recording of a classic pre-Murmur gig, at the Strand Cabaret in Marietta, GA. It's one of the best AUD recordings I've ever heard - at first I thought it was a soundboard recording but you can hear too much audience chatter for that to be the case. Either way, it's a phenomenal gig, and it is from a very critical part of the band's career - many of the songs that would end up on "Murmur" were written during this time, and you can hear the differences pretty clearly here. "Perfect Circle" is debuted here and played with a drum machine - this is why it was dropped from the live set shortly after summer 1982 until the Green tour, when they could do it justice.

(Something In The Night had first been played at the Monmouth Arts Center in Red Bank, New Jersey on 1 August, 1976.) Kansas City was only the seventeenth concert of a tour which ended on 1 January, 1979 after a hundred and seventeen shows. Consequently, Godfather presents us with very early performances of five songs from Darkness and two other Springsteen compositions (Fire and Paradise By The C, both of which also debuted in Buffalo). Notes: This is Taraunturas release -- it is NOT complete, NQ cut & MMH cut but in contrast to EVSD's "complete version" this has not been compressed to hell and back so this should not wind up banned for lossy, the mix on this is kind of nice compared to the pre-boot version in that the guitar & bass have both been brought up a bit in the mix making the sound a bit fuller IMHO. There was also a version here that was "restored" by splicing part of NQ & MMH from evsd lossy version to the pre-boot making a frankenstein version of very questionable lineage. (shriner)

Several months ago four songs, “Good Times Bad Times,” “For Your Life,” “Since I’ve Been Loving You” and “Rock And Roll” from Led Zeppelin’s rehearsal for the O2 reunion surfaced in very good sound quality. They were pressed, along with other interesting outtakes, on Countdown (Boogie Mama). The soundboard recording was excellent, but Jimmy Page’s guitar was buried down in the mix.
Soon afterwards Tarantura released The Triumph Rehearsals: Guitar On Version. It features almost the entire two hour rehearsal. It misses significant portions of “No Quarter” and “Misty Mountain Hop,” both cutting out after two and a half minutes. The sound is excellent and Page’s guitar, buried on the four tracks, sounds much louder.
It is known they had a soundcheck in the arena the day of the show, but this is a full dress rehearsal five days before the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute concert at the O2 Arena in London on December 10th, 2007. (Info taken from Collectors Music Reviews).

Notes: What we have here on Something Old Something Blue is another very good to excellent soundboard. All of the instruments are nice and clear with the audience sounding distant. Mick plays MC keeping the show going at a brisk pace and having fun with the audience. He reminds the crowd that Candlestick Park was the site of the last Beatles concert, calling it useless trivia under his breath. The performance is very good building up to the finale with an astonishing string of classics. The encore “Satisfaction” comes from a mediocre sounding audience recording. Having this excellent show in pressed silvers is great for someone, but worthless if you're not care about that.
