*** Rolling Stones European Tour 1982 ***

Personnel: Mick Jagger – lead vocals, guitar, harmonica :: Keith Richards – guitar, backing vocals :: Ron Wood – guitar, backing vocals :: Bill Wyman – bass guitar :: Charlie Watts – drums, percussion.

Additional musicians:
Ian Stewart – piano :: Chuck Leavell – keyboards :: Bobby Keys – tenor saxophone :: Gene Barge – alto Saxophone.

Notes: Edinburgh is one of the better sounding recordings and has been issued before on The Flower of Scotland (Rattle Snake RS 034/35), Let’s Play House (VGP-257) and Edinburgh 1982 (SODD 040/041). Godfather is comparable to the others and has warmer sound than the SODD.
It is important to remember this is a warm up date, only their third show since the massive Still Live tour ended the previous December. Their backing band on this tour was Chuck Leavell (keyboards), Gene Barge and Bobby Keys on saxophones, replacing Ian McLagan, Lee Allen and the great Ernie Watts. There is a lot of passion pouring out, but there is a degree of tentativeness in the first couple of songs especially. It sounds as if some of the songs are on the verge of a collapse in the breaks, as if they’re making sure they’re getting the song right

Personnel: David Gilmour :: Nick Mason :: Roger Waters :: Richard Wright.

Notes: From Reel Master Recorded FM Broadcast (Aired by FM Tokyo 1972) FM + Audience Sources Mixed & Remastered. Acid Moon gives a much needed overhaul and re-evaluation of the March 6th show. This is the first of the six night tour and the debut of Dark Side Of The Moon in Japan. The label collects together two sources on the three discs: the audience tape of the entire show on the first two discs and the partial radio broadcast on disc three. Sigma is a remarkable upgrade over the older titles.<-(Info taken from hokafloyd.com).

*** The Roll the Bones Tour ***

Personnel: Geddy Lee :: Alex Lifeson :: Neil Peart.

Notes: Ron's Rush RoIO Review (Audio - 10): This is widely regarded as the definitive Rush show -- the legendary Oakland performance. In my opinion, this was the last great tour, featuring a remarkably well-balanced set list. All the RTB songs come alive with extended solos, and long intros or outros. "Bravado" is most notable, with Alex delivering a truly inspired end solo. You can?t listen to the studio album quite the same way after this. This tour also has Neil?s best drum solo to date and the best closing medley, IMHO. A truly excellent soundboard recording. The balance and mix are almost perfect, and you could really believe that this is an official release. The flaws in Rush-n-Roulette ?92 are corrected here -- there are NO dropouts at all. The sound is also better mixed. The bass on this one will shake your house at high volumes. This CD was obviously a labor of love by a true fan. The booklet has many pictures, and lists every date on the RTB tour. The inside of the CD case lists the dates of all previous tours. If you can find "Mirrors," get it. It is definitely better quality than RNR ?92.

Bill Girton (Audio - 10): What a great show. The recording is superb from the first minute of the show to the last. Everything comes through great. To nit-pick a little, Geddy does very little audience interaction. Overall, one of the best sounding shows out there.

Mark Sorensen (Audio - 10): Subdivisions is played with incredible enthusiasm and sounds much heavier than on ASOH. Having not heard The Pass, Superconductor or Ghost Of A Chance live before, I was truly impressed by how much better these tracks sound live than from the studio. Or at least, the boys seem to breath life into them on stage. I also think that Geddy's voice is much stronger (faultless) than on 'Different Stages' - I can't really figure why Lee & Northfield didn't choose material from the RTBs tour. Anyway, for my first Rush BL - I am really impressed

*** The 2112 Tour ***

Notes: The famous Seattle '76 soundboard. his one sounds very good, I gave EX-, just like "By-Tor's Battle V2.01" but used different generation & root source tape than "By-Tor's Battle V2.01". Although the first cdr release of this show, "Seattle Supersonic" contains Ged's song introduction for "In the End", obviously placed on the top of side two of 90 minute tape, but "By-Tor's Battle V2.01" does not have that (so we know there are some separated way of tape succession). And this "2112 Seattle Night" has that introduce. The instruments are pretty well separated and it is a bit better than any other versions of this show and also has slightly warm bottom end I believe. But not so big difference. It's possible that because of the majore EQing.<-(Info taken from digitalrushexperience.com).

Notes: The original Rolling Stones lineup with Brian Jones has very few available concert recordings. Many radio and TV recordings survive but they aren't true concerts, just a few songs at a time. Fortunately for Stones fans, French radio recorded and broadcast four concerts in Paris from 1965 to 1967. The tapes have been rebroadcast several times over the years and been released on a number of bootlegs. All tracks were recorded at L'Olympia, Paris, France by French radio.

This compilation is my attempt to combine the best source for each song for each concert. Previous bootlegs simply used one broadcast or rebroadcast. You had the choice of listening to a complete concert in fair to good quality, or a few songs in excellent quality. Now, 3 out of the 4 concerts are 3 or 4 source merges; the 4th is a single source. I made this compilation in Nov. 2004 and no longer have the files, so these are extracted from the CDRs I made at the time. Most of the material is sourced from trade CDRs; source D is sourced from a silver pressed CD, all extracted at the time using EAC. Source C is from a low gen. cassette into my PC using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card.

I am told that the most recent rebroadcast was on French radio, July 1, 1995, in honor of the upcoming show at L'Olympia July 3, 1995. I am not sure if this is source A or C. I believe that this torrent is the source for DAC-007, "Paris Match," but have not heard it for comparison.

I named this compilation "Musicorama Mixdown" after the name of the French radio program and the process of mixing down multiple sources into one final product. Enjoy, there are some rare songs and great performances here

Notes: Great release with great artwork, 2 source mix - well done, worth getting (taken from stryder.de). This is an awesome show, one of the greatest from the 1977 US tour. Anyhow, this is one of the legendary Mike Millard's audience recordings and is in really good sound quality for an audience recording from the time. Millard missed the beginning of the show so these tracks are taken from another source, but Millard's recording makes up the majority of the show. Also, in an undoubted piece of rock n' roll history, Keith Moon makes an appearance towards the end of the show and duets with Bonham on "Moby Dick"! This is the most complete version of this show and overall the best quality.

Young has been playing The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper classic, A Day In The Life, as his encore closer in recent shows. A Day In The Life was primarily John Lennon’s composition, but McCartney contributed the upbeat middle section, ‘Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head… At the beginning of that point in the song, Young turned sideways, looking offstage. As the band played the steady thumping beat, McCartney ran out to the cheers and surprise of the fans, stood alongside Neil and sang the rest of the song. Young played the ‘orchestral climax’ section on his guitar, adding sustained feedback and general chaos, finally ripping his guitar strings and singing the eerie ‘ahhh, ahh ahh ahh,’ vocal chorus. The crowd went suitably nuts. To end the song, after the final chord, Young and McCartney walked over to the xylophone onstage and ponked a few whimsical last notes.

From grunge to rock to mid-tempo ballads, Neil Young drew them out and entertained the crowd with a pleasing set. A minor quibble: with many songs from the Harvest album, one would have wished that Young had added Out On The Weekend as well. Thanks to tbugsett who recorded and shared the tracks on the Dime site. tbugsett noted: “I was very close to one of the (speaker) stacks and Rick’s bass was more felt in the chest than actually heard. The ground felt almost like an earthquake… Hence the recording is very bass-heavy. I thought for a bit of doing some eq before uploading but decided in the end against it as this is a more true replica of how it sounded

Personnel: Roger Daltrey – lead vocals, harmonica :: Pete Townshend – lead guitar, vocals :: John Entwistle – bass guitar, vocals :: Keith Moon – drums, percussion, vocals.

Notes: This is a new release from the Heart Breakers label. The sound is identicle to Live In Toronto 12-11-75 (CD) (Substitute Recordings 382-828332-2) and features the entire show whereas the above listed CD's omitted Spoonful and My Generation Blues. The LP Raw (Who Raw) (LP) (K&S 004) is also not a complete version of this show and appears to be very rare mulit-colored vinyl. The back cover of this CD features a photo of Roger Daltrey ca.1975. Compare with the items listed above.<-(Info taken from thewho.net).

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
