Sound Quality : Superb- / Excellent+. Lineage : (Original DAT Master) > Original Silver (4CD set).

Notes: Paul McCartney played more shows in Germany on the Good Evening Europe tour in December and Cologne was the only city to have multiple dates. Only the December 16th show was scheduled, but because of the demand the December 17th show was added. Piccadilly Circus present the two shows complete on four CDs in Good Evening Cologne 2009. The sound quality for both shows are very clear, upfront, detailed and enjoyable. These are among the best sounding shows from the tour and Piccadilly Circus did a wonderful job with the transfer. The setlist is identical for both shows. McCartney added “Wonderful Christmas Time” to the encore set since it was getting close to Christmas. The December 16th show is the very first time the single had been played live since 1979 and, although it’s a bit tentative and rusty still sounds wonderful.

These songs from the Beatles, Wings and his solo albums are part of our heritage and give a certain comfort and stability. I can say, listening to these discs, even though the show is the same as the London, Paris and Berlin shows, there is nothing boring or repetitive. It is for this reason that Cologne is worth having along with the others. It does help that the sound quality of these shows is superior to the other recordings. But these are fun shows which do not disappoint. The only small negative about this is the lack of bonus material that Piccadilly Circus added to the other. Notes: Kiss first tour of Japan consisted of ten concerts in five cities, the highlight being an incredible three night run at the Budokan in Tokyo one of which was filmed and broadcast on HBO. The recording featured in this Tarantura release is from the third date on the tour in Kyoto. Kyoto Kaikan Hall a theatre that held an intimate audience of 2,500 people. The source for the recording comes from the vast Mr Peach archives and is of very good sound quality, very little audience interference with a nice balance of instruments. The concert itself showcases the band in top form playing a fast paced concert featuring a strong set list consisting of four new songs with the klassics mixed in. Notes: It's wonderful to find a source such as this show. There is a bit of flutter during the first song or two and Working Man's beginning is slightly cut. These are small prices to pay in exchange for a complete and uncut Cygnus X-1, Hemispheres and CTTH!!! Geddy is very talkative and Neil's drums are hitting hard. This show will be enjoyed by me for many years to come!! In regards to the artwork, the map on the front cover is an actual map of Detroit where Cobo Arena is located, and I do own the Rush toy truck!!! (Audio - 9) Review by LeeGeddy.

This has to be my favorite show from the "Hemispheres" tour. The sound is incredible, and there are only a few minor gaps that keep this from being a perfect EX+. The beginning of the show is a little iffy, "Anthem" starting, jumping from the left channel to the right channel, but it really isn't a problem. And there is weird sounding part in "Xanadu" right before Geddy starts to sing, but it dosen't get in the way. And the cut in "Working man" isn't that great either, but I still love this show. Notes: Another excellent soundboard. Can't get enough of Led Zeppelin's 1973 tour! January 7, 1973 in Oxford and was released by Wendy Records. What a mix of songs - Led Zeppelin 4 and Houses of the Holy when both were new and fresh on the radio.

Robert's voice is still incredibly weak from the flu, but the band is definitely on, with Jones and Bonham shining through in this bass and drum heavy soundboard. Jimmy is incredible too, especially in Dazed And Confused, where he indulges in some exotic and strange sounding soloing in the fast section that sounds quite breathtaking amongst the bashing of the rhythm section. The instrumental machine is playing exceptionally which makes up for Robert's sickness. Whole Lotta Love was dedicated to road crew: "Any of our road managers that didn't get arrested in Sheffield.
