Notes: - Good quality early demo versions of songs that would make up DK's "Plastic Surgery Disasters" in its entirety (and associated B-Sides) - Some lyrics and instrumentation are slightly different than official/final versions - Raw mix with bass panned completely to the left channel and guitar on the right sounding like it was recorded live in the studio. - Tracks 16 & 17 most likely recorded March/April 1981.<-(Info taken from original info file).

"Moon Over Marin" shines over the officially released version. It's played faster (at the speed it should be played), and the volume levels are the same for each of the four guys. You can actually hear the bass and drums, and Jello isn't "making this one count." WhaleEyeless

This album is a demo of Plastic Surgery Disasters, with a few other Dead Kennedys songs. The sound quality is probably the best I've ever heard from a demo. The songs are pretty much the exact same, with a few differences, but like I said the songs sound almost identical. The mixing is somewhat primitive, with the vocals and bass in the left channel, with the guitar and drums in the right channel. Overall I'd say this is worth having if Plastic Surgery Disasters is your favorite album (like me) or if you're a huge fan of the Dead Kennedys/bootlegs in general. holmzito

Notes: At last, EV has managed to continue its “Soundboard Revolution” by releasing this title featuring a newly surfaced SB from the first show that the band held at MSG on 7 June 1977. As rather expected, its sound quality has turned out to be unfortunately not as good as the SBs made available from a number of shows in 1975 and more or less similar to those already available from some shows in 1977, sounding drier and more compressed. It sounds somewhat stiff. More precisely, I will rank it in between EV's "The Powhatan Confederacy" (from the show on 28 May 1977) and the same label's "Bringing The House Down" (from the show on 26 May 1977). The last one sounds best in terms of the range and the balance among the three titles which were recorded at proximate times. In any event, it is certainly good to have another SB from 1977, especially from one of the shows at MSG, since there was no great audience recording of any of those shows, despite the general belief of people who witnessed that the levels of the band’s performances at those shows were great.
If my memory serves me correctly, Jimmy Page has once revealed that the atmosphere for the first night at MSG in 1977 was "electrifying." Now we can confirm, through this SBD, that the in natural response to such an atmosphere, the band's playing at the show is gutsy and generally excellent from 1977 standard. Every member of the band is in good shape. Now we can confirm that the band's performance at this show should truly be comparable to those at LA Forum that have long been available through better sounding audience recordings. In addition, I note that the acoustic set on CD2 is very well recorded and sounds nice in this SB. However, "Black Country Woman" is cut very short for some unknown reason. It's regrettable.
Notably, "No Quarter" at this show includes another enjoyable "Nutcracker" section. However, the band loses its way in the middle of "Kashmir," as it often happened. The band loses its way again in the latter part of "Rock And Roll" after Robert mistakenly attempted to finish the song earlier. Overall, however, the band’s first return to MSG since February 1975 was definitely a triumph for the band.
The bonus 3CDs feature the newly surfaced audience recording of the show on 10 June 1977, although the paper insert incorrectly refers to "June 6, 1977." At the end of Disc 3, it also includes a SB recording of Jimmy's guitar solo as performed in LA on 23 June 1977. Therefore, the bonus discs are basically the same as what Wendy released in its title "Relic From A Different Dream" but the EV version of the SB is said to be longer than Wendy's. Let’s hope that we would in the near future be able to enjoy the legendary Badgeholders’ show with a SB in its entirety.
The 6CD set version of the title comes in a package similar to that for EV’s “Rampagin' Cajun”. Its outer case features two photos of the Zeppelin ship waiting to take off (with the band members symbols added on its wings) and flying over the skyscraper, while its three-way foldable inner case features several stage and backstage shots of the band. -TH Nov 2010-

In a change to a regular diet of 1975 US Tour soundboards, Empress Valley has managed to pull off a great coup and release a nearly complete soundboard recording for the opening night at Madison Square Garden in New York, on the 7th June 1977. This was the first of six concerts, a run up to the classic six concerts at the hallowed LA Forum on the West Coast just a few weeks later. The band are very pleased and excited to be back in New York, and Plant makes a number of references to this. And also to the Silver Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II back home in Great Britain. The standard of playing is extremely high, The concert starts with a barrage of fireworks, lit by imbeciles, clearly heard on the mikes before the band get on stage. There are some cuts in the soundboard tape, one just before 4 minutes 30 seconds into No Quarter, and Black Country Woman is a bit of a stumble with bits missing. There is another small cut about 14 minutes and 40 seconds into Moby Dick. A great pity that Empress Valley did not use the audience recording to fill the gaps. No doubt, and as is usual these days, dedicated and knowledgeable fans will transform this release and improve and complete it. And then make it available free on the Net. But we must not detract from the importance of this release, and the fact that Empress Valley will no doubt have had to pay a princely sum to the hoarder who has been sitting on this. Full marks to them for this very significant release. The sound quality is in the main fairly well balanced stereo, and extremely good. Some copies come with the audience recording from the 10th June (albeit incorrectly dated 6 June!), a useful bonus. The main release is in a gatefold card release, inside a colour sleeve. -Jules McTrainspotter Nov 2010-.<-(Info taken from led-zeppelin.us).

*** In Constant Motion" World Tour ***

Personnel: David Byrne – vocals, guitar :: Paul Socolow - bass :: Todd Turkisher - drums :: Mauro Refosco - vibes, percussion.

Notes: Here's an excellent 2 CD David Byrne bootleg titled "No Titles Please", which was released in 1995 by label Crystal Cat. It includes a complete show recorded in Sweden during DB's 1994 "In Constant Motion" world tour (25 tracks), and another eight "bonus" tracks (on the second CD) which are from two other shows in Sweden but from 1992. This is definetly one of my favourites DB bootlegs ever (along with the great "Unplugged+More" and Nashville 2001), and although "This Sensuous World" might have better sound quality, this one is just mindblowing, I adore everything about it, from the cover art to the recording itself. It includes great live renditions of tracks such as "Empire", "Sympathy for the Devil", "Stay Up Late", "Love-Building on Fire" and "Blind", which are not very common in DB's setlists (especially for Stay Up Late!), a lot of tracks from the 1994 "David Enryb" album and of course all the TH classics we know and love.<-(Info taken from original info file).

Notes: There is no mention of it anywhere on the CDs or the packaging, but this is from the first Rose Bowl show. Sound is clear (though not quite as clear as "Live Bell") and consistent throughout; bass is strong and sounds saturated in just a few spots. - THE HEDONIST :: "Your Favorite Disease" gets a 7 or 7+ on the "inspiration & improvisation" factor. Excellent digital fidelity and stereo separation (DDD), though stereo is a little bit off center, but still great; I'll give it a 9+ or 10 for fidelity and stereo. No close audience noise. Packaging is very low budget, and doesn't even say what city/date it's from, but someone on the Echoes Digest told me it was the first Rose Bowl show, 16 Apr 94. The standard show (no DSoTM set). Also a keeper. -ECHOES.<-(Info taken from pf-roio.de).

Personnel: Bruce Springsteen - lead vocals, most lead guitars, harmonica :: Roy Bittan – piano, synthesizer :: Clarence Clemons – saxophone, background vocals :: Danny Federici – organ, electronic glockenspiel, accordion :: Nils Lofgren – guitars, pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo, background vocals :: Patti Scialfa - acoustic guitar, background vocals :: Garry Tallent – bass guitar :: Soozie Tyrell - violin, percussion, background vocals :: Steven Van Zandt – guitars, mandolin, background vocals :: Max Weinberg – drums.

Notes: Absolutely amazing sound, which makes this one more than essential. ::: The final show of the short 2002 European tour featured all the highlights of the first couple months of the 2002 "barnstorming tour," including "Jackson Cage," the solo slot (extended to two songs at this show), and a very cool "wild card" song after "Waiting on a Sunny Day." Bruce relied heavy on the "Darkness on the Edge of Town" material early in the tour, but he moved away from that as the tour progressed, and "No Surrender" and "Jackson Cage" were more than happy to take those spots. "Jackson Cage" was a semi-regular on "The Rising" tour after not being played since "The River" tour.
The slot between "Sunny Day" and "World Apart" became a wild card, much like the post-"10th Avenue" spot was on the Reunion tour, and Bruce frequently filled that spot with "Bus Stop" and other "Greetings" material.
The solo slot, which came after "Countin' on a Miracle," was a favorite of fans, and Bruce usually sat down at the piano for this one. The most frequent songs in that spot were "Incident on 57th Street" and "For You," and this London show featured "Incident" and "The River," which was done on acoustic guitar.
"Dancing in the Dark" made its tour debut in Tacoma, Washington, on August 21, 2002 in a full band arrangement, the first since the end of the Amnesty Tour on October 15, 1988. Instead of going heavy on keyboards, though, Bruce went with a guitar-driven arrangement and the song just cooked, becoming a highlight of the entire tour

*** Queen Japan Tour 1976 ***

Personnel: Freddie Mercury :: Brian May :: Roger Taylor :: John Deacon.

Notes: Rare bootleg lp. Why this share ? Well simply because all other versions which aren't from this LP but from rereleases from this specific L.P. are all in inferiour sound. This was the first boot which was released with this show. It is a highly collectable Lp bootleg. And all the rereleases like : - Mercury Poisoning (lp) - The Battle of 76 (lp) - Year of the opera (cd) Feature a less good soundquality.

So for the fan who wants it all. The Japanese bootleg label MARC made 4 Queen boot lp's which are all very rare. And of course expensive. These are the vinyls : MARQ-TQ 75122 KIMONO MY PLACE LIVE 1 lp. (tokyo may 1st. 1975) - MARQ-TQ 76059 INVITE YOU TO A NIGHT AT THE BUDO KAN - MARQ -TQ 76042 LAZING ON A SUNDAY EVENING 1lp (tokyo april 4h. 1976) - ZAP 7960 FREE IN THE PARk 1lp (hyde park sept. 18th. 1976) ** ZAP which stands for "ZE ANONYM PLATENSPIELER (the anonymous record player, it is in german) was a american bootleg label. Which had nothing to do with MARC. The MARC label made many boots in the 70's for many bands. And the MARC label stood for high quality bootlegs (soundwise) among record collectors. Because the HYDE PARK show was recorded in such a bad quality MARC decided to annoy ZAP (their compettitor) by releasing a inferiour qualtiy bootleg on the ZAP label instead of their own label.
The show is : Tokyo, Japan, Nippon Budokan march 31st. 1976

This one is the Audifon 1994 CD, from the rare German LP "oakland sixty-nine". The (incomplete) soundboard tape was recorded by Bill Graham's people, and broadcasted on ksan in 1972. Even if it is the primitive sounding, the sound is great
.<-(Info taken from original info file).

This title incorporates the official 1969 Tour Program artwork into the cover design. Best sound of the Oakland 2nd soundboard sources

*** Roll the Bones Tour ***

Personnel: Geddy Lee :: Alex Lifeson :: Neil Peart.

Notes: (Audio - 9) This is the best sounding audience tape ever! It actually sounds so much better than almost every other soundboard out there! I like this bootleg a whole lot more than "Mirrors", most would disagree with me, but it IS they who are wrong! The performance in "Mirrors" is pretty bad when compared to... well, lets just say Kenny G packs more raw passion into his shows. At least in my set list, "Mirrors" has just become obsolete. Never again will I sit through that bland performance. Throughout "Force Ten" you can hear the audience REALLY talk a lot, then they are in the perfect mix for every single second of the rest of the show! I think this is a tremendous must have, I cannot think of one single knock on this one, the sound is 100% and the erformance is above average for a great live band! A funny little thing is Alex is freaking out during "Closer o the Heart", he usually does his improv and says something that is at least a sentence structure to it. This time he just spats out things at a hundred miles an hour and I just struggle to keep up, let alone understand. Perfect show, get this one for sure!. -Review by ToBeOrWhat.<-(Info taken from original info file).

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
