Personnel: Jello Biafra - Vocals :: East Bay Ray - Guitar :: Klaus Fluoride - Bass :: D.H. Peligro - Drums.

Notes: - Good quality early demo versions of songs that would make up DK's "Plastic Surgery Disasters" in its entirety (and associated B-Sides) - Some lyrics and instrumentation are slightly different than official/final versions - Raw mix with bass panned completely to the left channel and guitar on the right sounding like it was recorded live in the studio. - Tracks 16 & 17 most likely recorded March/April 1981.<-(Info taken from original info file).

"Moon Over Marin" shines over the officially released version. It's played faster (at the speed it should be played), and the volume levels are the same for each of the four guys. You can actually hear the bass and drums, and Jello isn't "making this one count." WhaleEyeless

This album is a demo of Plastic Surgery Disasters, with a few other Dead Kennedys songs. The sound quality is probably the best I've ever heard from a demo. The songs are pretty much the exact same, with a few differences, but like I said the songs sound almost identical. The mixing is somewhat primitive, with the vocals and bass in the left channel, with the guitar and drums in the right channel. Overall I'd say this is worth having if Plastic Surgery Disasters is your favorite album (like me) or if you're a huge fan of the Dead Kennedys/bootlegs in general. holmzito

*** Queen Japan Tour 1976 ***

Personnel: Freddie Mercury :: Brian May :: Roger Taylor :: John Deacon.

Notes: Rare bootleg lp. Why this share ? Well simply because all other versions which aren't from this LP but from rereleases from this specific L.P. are all in inferiour sound. This was the first boot which was released with this show. It is a highly collectable Lp bootleg. And all the rereleases like : - Mercury Poisoning (lp) - The Battle of 76 (lp) - Year of the opera (cd) Feature a less good soundquality.

So for the fan who wants it all. The Japanese bootleg label MARC made 4 Queen boot lp's which are all very rare. And of course expensive. These are the vinyls : MARQ-TQ 75122 KIMONO MY PLACE LIVE 1 lp. (tokyo may 1st. 1975) - MARQ-TQ 76059 INVITE YOU TO A NIGHT AT THE BUDO KAN - MARQ -TQ 76042 LAZING ON A SUNDAY EVENING 1lp (tokyo april 4h. 1976) - ZAP 7960 FREE IN THE PARk 1lp (hyde park sept. 18th. 1976) ** ZAP which stands for "ZE ANONYM PLATENSPIELER (the anonymous record player, it is in german) was a american bootleg label. Which had nothing to do with MARC. The MARC label made many boots in the 70's for many bands. And the MARC label stood for high quality bootlegs (soundwise) among record collectors. Because the HYDE PARK show was recorded in such a bad quality MARC decided to annoy ZAP (their compettitor) by releasing a inferiour qualtiy bootleg on the ZAP label instead of their own label.
The show is : Tokyo, Japan, Nippon Budokan march 31st. 1976

Notes: JEMS master recording. Excellent sounding recording capturing Bowie touring in support of his Outside album. This was probably the peak of his electronica phase and features Nine Inch Nails on the first five tracks with Bowie trading vocals with Trent Reznor on the NIN classic Hurt along with electronica inspired reworkings of Bowie classics like Andy Warhol and The Man Who Sold The World. Notes: Broadcast live by Hawaiian radio (K-POI) :: 20 Bit Master Recording.

A wonderful soundboard recording from the last show of the Stones early summer tour, with the original Rolling Stone-the multi-talented Brian Jones in the band. Professionally recorded and mixed at the International Sports Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. My copy has the date of 28th July 1966 as the recording date. Recorded for a summer radio broadcast by KPOI (Honolulu) radio, this accounts for the fine sound quality. There are not too many early (pre-1969) Stones shows around in excellent sound fidelity, but this one is great. Performance wise, outstanding albeit a short show, as was the custom then. The band is very tight and rehearsed from two months of solid touring. Vocals, including backing vocals from Keith Richard and Brian Jones are very clear. To be sure, there is screaming on the numbers, but it isn't overpowering or too distracting. As noted, this was the last show of the tour, and also the very last American show with Brian Jones. The Stones did a 27-show European tour in late March-April 1967, then stopped touring until 1969. Brian Jones (for those who are too young to remember...) was fired by the Stones in June 1969, and died tragically in early July 1969 under mysterious circumstances. It was Brian Jones who formed the Rolling Stones with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in 1961, with Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts joining later. A great early Stones show...Highly recommended for Stones fans...fantastic to hear it 43-years later. RIP Brian.<-(Info taken from bootlegzone.com).

Personnel: David Gilmour :: Nick Mason :: Rick Wright.

Notes: This is one of the best roio's I've seen yet (I haven't seen many). The CDs are both picture discs showing a far away shot of the band on stage. Included is a booklet with several good photos of the band in concert. The quality of the recording is also good, but the voices sound a tad weak. Welcome to the Machine is really good, and Comfortably Numb features a five minute guitar solo at the end. Too bad Gilmour can't sing ABitWII to save his life. ( Please no flames from Gilmour fans. I really like his singing, but on every version of ABitWII I've heard him sing on the DSoT tour sounds dreadful.) -MISC ::::: This one is the audience recording that has the best sound quality I've ever heard. -PATRICK ::::: Many roio's are given great reviews for great sound quality when they have noticeable pitch problems. Notes: The reason why Jumpin' Jack Flash wasn't on any of the classic Trade Mark of Quality LP releases is because even though the Stones got better by the time they reached San Diego the taper (who shall remain nameless) didn't. He would set the recording levels on the first song thereby rendering it nearly useless. The trick here is to try and get the levels during the warm-up acts, just to get you in the "ball park", then a little careful tweaking when the Stones hit the main PA's. Also note that since this is made from the Trade Mark tape that the complete show is now in circulation.<-(Info taken from rollingstonesnet.com).

Notes: A complete show from the 73 tour (minus Childhood's End??) as performed in Vienna, according to the package. Sounds great. Some mislabeling, but otherwise no complaints. The title for this RoIO is appropriate for it contains an excellent recording of the '73 version of "Set the Controls...". I was very disappointed with the version on 'Not a Cloud in the Sky' because of the rowdy crowd noise. The 15min version resented here is not marred by such idiots. After listening to Set the Controls, I really feel disappointed that they don't improvise like this in concert anymore. - PIG1DO.<-(Info taken from original info file).

Notes: "Dance Of The Devil" is another evidence of how strong the "Heaven And Hell" line up was. The sound quality of this CD is very good and the whole artwork is more a little bit simple - due to the fact that this CD is among the very early Black Sabbath bootleg CDs. So no real Sabbath collector should miss this CD in his collection! The most important thing about the recordings is that Bill Ward can be heard playing the drums which is very rare for Black Sabbath bootlegs from the "Heaven And Hell" era. Made in Italy (supposely) and released somewhere at the beginning of the nineties!. <-(Info taken from black-sabbath.de).

*** Secret USA Tour ***

Personnel: Steve Morse - guitar :: Ian Gillan - vocals :: Jon Lord - keyboards :: Roger Glover - bass :: Ian Paice - drums.

Notes: One of the first shows with Steve Morse --- In 1993, because of the frequent disagreement, musical differences, fights and tensions between vocalist Ian Gillan and guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, Blackmore left the band day before the Japan Tour. Deep Purple hired Joe Satriani as the temporal replacement for Ritchie, to play the remaining gigs. After the tour, Joe continued his solo career and Purples asked Steve Morse to join the band. As Ritchie was Purples founding member and very popular in fans, other members didn't know how will new guitarist work for the audience. So they decided to held a small secret warm-up tour, in order to see the audience reactions during the live. The first tour took place in Mexico, and 4 month later in USA Fortunately, Steve fit the band quite well and audience went crazy. Thus, Purples asked Steve to stay in the band.<-(Info taken from wikipedia.org).

Disc 1: (Memphis, Mid-South Coliseum, USA, June 28, 1978) "When The Whip Comes Down" on Sucking in the '70s was recorded here.

Disc 2: (Toronto, Oshawa Civic Auditorium, Canada, April 22, 1979) Keith Richards was ordered by Judge Lloyd Graburn to give a special concert for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) as a part of his sentence. Billed as "The Keith Richards Benefit Concert", the show was to be the premiere for the newly formed "New Barbarians", consisting of Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Ian McLagan, Stanley Clarke, Bobby Keys and Joseph Zigaboo Modeliste. Although never officially announced, it was widely rumored that the Rolling Stones would appear. When the Barabarian's set finished, Keith remained onstage taking bows. Then, from a rear corner of the stage, Mick Jagger walked on to greet Keith. Mick and Keith settled down two stools to perform an acoustic "Prodigal Son". At the end of the song, the remaining Stones walked onstage and the band jumped into "Let It Rock". They played an abbreviated - 50-minute - set at the first, afternoon show. The rest of the New Barbarians came onstage to join the Stones for the last two numbers at both performances, "Miss You" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash". The evening show was identical. Seats in the first 15 audience rows were given free to CNIB members. Note this was the only show for 1979...<-(Info taken from original info file).

*** Wish You Were Here Tour ***

Personnel: David Gilmour :: Nick Mason :: Roger Waters :: Richard Wright.

Notes: Pink Floyd’s 1975 tour has received much attention the past couple of years from labels. Riding The Cow focuses upon the April 13th San Francisco show, the second of two nights in the Cow Palace and the fourth overall. Godfather is the first CD release of the old vinyl Prism (RP-986 3S - PINK-SF-A/D) released many years ago.

The recording is very good and enjoyable with a pronounced emphasis on the top end. It lacks the depth of some other recordings from this era, but has much clarity. Unfortunately the tape is incomplete with the second song of the first set “You Gotta Be Crazy” missing. It has never surfaced in the intervening years so it’s assumed to be lost forever. A second audience recording does exist and, while it is worse quality, runs from the beginning to about a minute into “Us & Them” before cutting out. It does have the song which the first source lacks. Godfather chose unwisely to utilize only the first tape. An edit of the two sources to present the entire concert would have been a good idea and would’ve made Riding The Cow a sterling Pink Floyd release. The concert itself is highly enjoyable

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
