Notes: In 1987, Frampton's career enjoyed a tremendous surge when he was invited by David Bowie to play lead guitar on the latter's Glass Spider World Tour. Peter had competition for that lead-guitar spot from Carlos Alomar, Bowie's faithful six-stringer who solos on 'Fashion' and 'Scary Monsters'. Frampton isn't used to sharing the stage with any guitarist, lead or otherwise. It also helped that Richard Cottle, one of Bowie's keyboardists, played on Frampton's 'Premonition' and toured with him in 1986 and 1998; and bassist Carmine Rojas worked with Frampton on some unreleased songs from the 'Premonition' sessions. <-(Taken from classicbands.com).

Review: 62,000 Led Zeppelin Fans Jam Kingdome. They came at night by the thousands, some waiting for two days in the rain and cold for a chance to have their ears assaulted and nerves numbed and to say they saw Led Zeppelin. It was a night of pot, pills and popcorn with the popcorn coming in a close third to the other two.

But overall, the Led Zeppelin concert at the Kingdome came off without too much trouble. There were several arrests, lots of dope and booze smuggled in – either under coats or inside bodies – and some very sick kids from drinking too much. “It's not a bad bunch considering the number of people here”, one Seattle police officer said of the 62,000 people, “and considering the reputation of the group.”

Led Zeppelin has earned a reputation for attracting surly crowds which generally fight and riot. But the most damage was to the ears and there is a possibility 62,000 people will spend today saying, “Huh?” What attracted these people, generally hard-core rock fans, was the experience. It was appreciated by some when the lead singer, Robert Plant, told the crowd he was deaf in one ear. It was a miracle the whole band wasn’t stone deaf. Later, Plant said his hearing came back during one number.

The concert started shortly after 8 p.m. amid fireworks and people holding up lighted matches, the moment everybody had been waiting for. Throughout the long Sunday, the huge crowd remained orderly as it waited to get through the gates and have the experience. At 4:30 yesterday afternoon, the 20,000 or so Zeppelin fans waiting at the Kingdome started to chant, “We want in, we want in.” Suddenly a movement rippled through the crowd like a wave pushing the front-line troops into the fence. Plant promised that the 1977 tour would be “blood, thunder and the hammer of the gods”. A squad of paramedics was geared up for the blood and everybody else was geared up for the thunder and hammer part. (Post-Intellengencer - July 1977).

Personnel: David Gilmour :: Nick Mason :: Roger Waters :: Richard Wright .

Notes: It took forever to do this. Honestly I'm glad its done but I'm so enjoying the rewards of having a killer sounding recording and now you can too. This one is made up of two sources painstakingly mixed together. You really get a feel for the space. The Boston Garden was a great place to see a concert. It was built at the cost of 4 million dollars in 1928 by the same people who built New York's Madison Square Garden. It was originally called 'Boston's Madison Square Garden' and eventually "Madison Square" was dropped from the name. The Garden was later demolished in 1997.
The Floyd live at The Garden, 18. June, 1975. Most enjoyable are the performances of You Gotta Be Crazy, which is different from both the 74 and 77 Dogs versions. The set also has great versions of Any Colour You Like and one of the last pre-87 performances of Echoes.

Mixed from two recordings merged together.

- The Lampinski recording - section BB, row 5, seat 6. (PRRP053L). Matt "doc".

Notes: Factory Pressed Copy HL 190/91 :: Quality: A; SB ::::: Although the usual "Firebird Suite" opening appears, missing is the Open Your Eyes "Ambience Track" which was used as prelude to each performance. "Roundabout" and "Starship Trooper" have been cut from the end of the show. The band encounters technical difficulties mid-way through "Siberian Khatru" and muddle their way through after things are resolved. The awkward moments of dead air are preserved here. The Highland cover lists the second piece in Steve Howe's solo as being "Ram," when actually it is "Diary of a Man Who Vanished." It incorrectly lists "Clap" as "The Clap," as did the original version from "The Yes Album." The Yes logo is printed with a slight tilt to the right on both the front and back covers (not a faulty scan)...<-(Info taken original info file).

*** Roar of the Dragon ***

Personnel: Steven Tyler :: Joe Perry :: Brad Whitford :: Tom Hamilton :: Joey Kramer.

Notes: Quality: A+ Source: AUD Lineage: silvers>EAC>TLH (FLAC 8)... Pretty good sounding AUD recordings from the Roar of the Dragon tour!.<-(Info taken from original nfo file) ::::: The Roar of the Dragon Tour lasted from 1999-2000, and included a New Year/Millennium show in Osaka on December 31, 1999, parts of which were recorded and later broadcast on ABC television as part of special programming about Millennium celebrations across the world.[1]

Despite being only six dates, the tour had its own unique theme, incorporating dragons and other important elements of East Asian culture. Before the concert started and in between songs, a dragon would roar on the projection screen. There was also a coinciding stage setup as well.[2]

As Aerosmith had still been riding on the success of Nine Lives and the "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" single from 1997 and 1998, the tour was a rousing success. In addition, Aerosmith had also only performed one leg of dates in Japan on the prior Nine Lives Tour, whereas they visited North America and Europe on several legs, so this tour was, in essence, the band making up for only performing one leg of dates in Japan on the Nine Lives Tour

*** "Born Again" Tour ***

Personnel: Tony Iommi - Guitars :: Ian Gillan - Vocals :: Geezer Butler - Bass :: Bev Bevan - Drums :: Geoff Nicholls - Keyboards .

Notes: Good to very good audience recording. The PA mix isn't very good at the beginning of the show, with the guitar pretty much drowning out everything else. Gillan's voice is the first thing to be turned up, and then comes the bass and the drums. Everything is fairly balanced by the end of "Children Of The Grave". The sound quality is not the best, with some drops and cuts from time to time and some speed distortion at some points, especially during "Born Again". But the good side of this story is that can clearly hear each instrument on stage, including the bass, which is uncommon on bootlegs from that period.

Ian Gillan doesn't seem to be in very good shape on this night. His voice is sharp and nice, but I got the feeling that he wasn't able to explore his full vocal range. On some songs, the soundboard engineer seems to help him by putting some heavy reverb on his voice. The reverb is first used during "War Pigs", which gives the song and interesting new "gloomy" ambience. Ian isn't able to execute the last verses of "Born Again", with his voice breaking despite the added reverb for enhancement. He coughs a few times at the beginning of "Supernaut". Once he starts singing after the intro riff, his voice is better, but continues to come and go that way until the end of the show. Still, he does great renditions of all the Ozzy era material, which may have been easier for him to perform.

Bev Bevan does his solo during "Supernaut". This is a great occasion to listen to his drumming and notice how different he makes Sabbath sound, in contrast with Bill Ward's style. While Bill has a really jazzy feeling in his playing, Bevan gives the songs a more psychedelic or progressive sound. And the man can definitely play! Listen to this show if you don't believe me!

From the end of "Iron Man" toward the end of the show, Geezer's bass is gradually turned up in the mix. This gives us a good opportunity to listen to him throb to Bevan's beats. Geezer's playing is very heavy on this one, supporting and enhancing the overall power of Iommi's guitar, which is already loud as hell. "Zero To Hero" and "Rock N' Roll Doctor" are particularly great, with the alternating jazz lines and heavy riffs intertwined.

In summary, despite Ian Gillan's minor voice problems, this Madrid gig is very good show from this era. In contrast, the Paris 9/30/83 show was just a little more energetic. It's also funny to note the way in which the Spanish crowd whistles a lot instead of shouting its joy to the band. They also seem to be talking all of the time, even during the songs!

Notes: For Your Love (Silver Rarities SIRA 134/135) is one of the most important releases in that label’s history and features the complete encore ::::: A great performance all around, especially The Hunter sequence in HMMT when Plant turns the gun into a steaming locomotive and the psychedelic power cover of For Your Love. I wrote ***Zeppelin Live Archive -- January 10, 1969 Fillmore West*** - A Thrilling Ride - This was Led Zeppelin's second night of four consecutive nights at San Francisco's Fillmore West, where they were the opening act for both Taj Mahal and Country Joe and The Fish. This performance reportedly blew Joe and his fish off the stage, the audience didn't want Zepp to leave. Zeppelin had everything to prove and they more than delivered on this electrifying night. From their roaring rendition of Train Kept A Rollin' right on through to the closing cover of another Yardbird's hit, For Your Love, Led Zeppelin were ensuring themselves a place in the rock pantheon for ages to come. In an interview, months later after the first American tour, Jimmy Page described the second night as being "like a tornado filling up this row, then the next row and heading clear out across the country"(1). From Richard Cole's Stairway To Heaven: Led Zeppelin Uncensored, 'After the second of the San Francisco gigs, Jimmy turned to me on the ride back to the hotel and said, "This is a turning point for us, Richard." He laughed with excitement. "When a supporting band starts overshadowing the headliner, you know something's happening. Brace yourself for a thrilling ride.(2)"' --- (1). Godwin, Robert. "Led Zeppelin: The Press Reports." (2). Cole, Richard. "Stairway To Heaven: Led Zeppelin Uncensored." --- Casca.

Notes: The performance is excellent, the core members of the band, Phil Mogg Pete Way Andy Parker and Schenker work as a well oiled machine. The band opens with a strong number from the new album, Let It Roll that plows over the audience, the band sounds very powerful in this recording with Michael recreating the solo for the record sounding at times like two guitar players. Doctor Doctor is well received and played early into the set, not quit the end of the set signature tune that it would become.

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
