Notes: Very sketchy information is available about this little known Blind Faith performance. The tape recording found was ressurrected from an obscure used music/bookshop on the eastside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Here's a brief background leading to the music that is by now, moderately distributed among Blind Faith enthusiasts around the world! A few years ago, I met a fellow (now a good friend) in Madison, Wisconsin, who attended the Blind Faith performance on 26 July 1969. He informed me that this concert took place at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Grounds in West Allis, Wisconsin, a suburb southwest of Milwaukee. To my amazement, he also mentioned that this was a rock & roll festival, that included several other well-known groups of the late 1960's. This was information I wanted to further investigate and share with my friends. During April of 1999, I was with two of my good friends on a used vinyl/compact disc search adventure in Milwaukee. We were looking for interesting collectibles, including obscurities like bootlegg concerts, music related books and magazines from the glorious years of our youth. While digging around in one of those book stores, we detected a stack of old cassettes under a glass shelf, with a small notice that suggested that the owners of the store had a selection of local musical concerts recorded on cassette tape. Well, we decided to ask what the selection was. Eureka, one of those listed was Blind Faith in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, August 1969! Well, that was too good to pass by, although collectively, we (as serious Blind Faith collectors) already had a copy of a portion of the concert from earlier music swaps. My good buddy suggested, "Let's get this copy also, it may be an alternate, or better recording". So we did, and it was indeed, a very nice recording, with additional performance tracks!!!.<-(Info taken from angelfire.com/wi).

A top notch show. The chemistry was there between Eric and Pete. Eric and Pete should have recorded an album back then. As i recall Eric did play on a track of the Townsend Lane album. There must be some studios floating around.

Interesting. I'd not a full Blind Faith live
show before. Not bad, but considering the talents involved it's a bit lackluster. The
performance is competent but lacks fire.

Thanks for sharing this recording on your blog.

Scott.

Great band and great concert. I think this isn't soundboard, but against all good to heat them.

this is as close to a memory as i'll have. i caught the show in seattle in august. it was awful. could barely figure out what they were playing. ec was so stoned - his speech was slurred and he would just stop playing.

guessing a reel2reel was involved in recording - it drags in places. i'm thinking audacity could help this.

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
