Personnel: Janis Joplin: Vocals :: Sam Houston Andrew III: Guitar :: James Gurley: Guitar :: Peter S. Albin: Bass :: David Getz: Drums.

Notes: A nice early CD bootleg of Janis and Big Brother. All the tracks are live cuts, but there is little recording information given as to where and exactly when these cuts were recorded. Back cover simply indicates all tracks except #3+4 were recorded in San Francisco (probably the Fillmore West) and tracks #3+4 being recorded in Los Angeles. All tracks as indicated date to 1967. Sound fidelity is generally good to excellent, and all tracks are in stereo and originate with soundboard recordings. Keeping in mind the era of live recordings, these are good to excellent. Ball and Chain has the first few seconds faded in, but the rest of the tracks are complete. The recording dates of 1967 make sense, as it is definately Big Brother as Janis' back up band, and Janis is in excellent voice. -Cooley-.

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
