Recorded Live at Festival Hall, Osaka, Japan - June 29, 1973.
Very Good Audience Recording :: CBR 320 kbps.

01. Highway Star
02. Smoke On The Water
03. Strange Kind Of Woman
04. Child In Time
05. Lazy~Drum Solo~The Mule
06. Space Truckin'
07. Gillan's Last Speech

Personnel: MKII: Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Jon Lord, Ian Paice.

Notes: Great sounding version of the end of an era. This is the complete show from the evening, it even includes Gillan's farewell words to the audience. A moving moment for us that read about it in NME the week after. (by balla) - Good quality audience tape - may be the same as "Gillan/Glover's Last Stand," but the lack of surface noise makes up for it, and there has been some obvious cleanup to the sound, making it one the few really essential Purple bootlegs to own. (deeppurpleliveindex.com) - ...legendary Purple bootleg a "must have" amongst DP bootleg traders/collectors. It's an aud. recording but the quality is simply superb !!!! (by gr. Purple Botzy).

Anonyme a dit…

While it was the end of an era in that the band would split up after this, they did all reunite in 1984 with this lineup and recorded several more albums, including the magnificent Perfect Strangers album which was arguably their best ever. So it's not as if this was the final show ever of this lineup since they did continue later on.

This blog is merely an index with public links for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on this blog for FREE among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs in this blog within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?
